Castles

UNESCO world heritage city of Regensburg
Regensburg impresses its visitors with a history stretching back over 2,000 years. The Goths and Romans were active here. From the 9th century, Regensburg was an important trading city. Many of the best-known buildings in the city such as the marketplace, the town hall, the cathedral and the Stone Bridge originate from the 11th – 13th centuries.
Stroll through the narrow alleyways and enjoy the character of the old town with its numerous romantic influences. It’s no coincidence that the people of Regensburg refer to their home as Italy’s most northern city.

Walking, running or simply a gentle stroll – alone or as part of a team. Either sporty or smoothly for a time out. Long or short distance – we will always help you find the right path to unique locations in the surrounding area.
The 100km long Schwarze Laber cycle path from Neumarkt to Regensburg runs almost directly past Maiers HOTEL. Enjoy the wind in your hair as the picturesque landscape rolls by. You can safely store your bike in our garage after your tour. We will be happy to put a packed lunch together for you on the following morning.
Altmühl Valley
The Altmühl Valley nature park is one of the most beautiful valleys in the whole world. Bavarian’s slowest river winds its way between juniper heaths and jagged slopes, past castles, magnificent forests and romantic villages.
Relax on one of the bathing lakes or get sporty and jump on your bike. We would be happy to give you some tips for the best tours.
